The benefits
you've provided us have been more than financial. The principles you
teach have shown the way for us to take responsibility for our all areas
of our lives. Here's our story...
Two years ago David and I got married. David sold his house and business
worth a combined 150K and we nestled into our 3-bedroom home, started a
new Life Coaching business and began our lives together. We thought we
were smart financially, but then promptly began buying, spending and
vacationing and before we knew it, the money was running out. Finally we
were forced to take a long look at our money situation. Oh my!
In a year and a half, we had spent over 100K. We owed 35K in credit card
and school loans debt, 14K in vehicle loans and 95K in mortgage debt -
totaling 144K in debt. Suddenly, we couldn't pay our minimum payments
and we were scared! During that year our combined income had been about
2K a month, but we spent 8K a month! Then the blame game began and our
marriage started falling apart.
We decided that it would be best for me to go back to work in my
previous profession as a software instructor and (praise the Lord) I
found a good paying position right away.
It was at my new job that a fellow co-worker introduced me to your debt
elimination program. I had been praying for a solution. I thought God's
answer would come by a generous check or miraculously from a long-lost
rich uncle. But instead it came as an education. God sent me to you.
One year ago, we listened to your CD series and decided to create an
accelerator margin of $200. I thought it was impossible. But, to my
amazement, we did it! I started to consciously look for extra dollars
and monitor my spending. Lunch with the girls became less common. My
friends complained, but I persisted.
David was amazing. He monitored every penny. Within two months, our "accmar"
(household buzzword for “accelerator margin”) grew to $500, then quickly
to $1000. It started getting fun! Then Christmas came and we were
vigilant. My family was shocked and surprised, but we persisted.
It is now one year later and I'm happy to announce that our accmar is
$3000! David's Life Coaching practice is thriving and I help him teach
workshops on the weekends. We've paid off over 25K in debt in just one
year. We are on schedule to eliminate all our debt including our home in
3 years. David and I have bonded through all of this and I believe it is
due to practicing your program together and working toward our common
goal of financial freedom.
